Parliamentary American Football Group welcomes Jacksonville Jaguars to Westminster
Last night (29 October) the All-Party Parliamentary Group for American Football met in Westminster and welcomed Hussain Naqi, Jacksonville Jaguars Senior Vice-President for International Development.
At the meeting, MPs and Peers were joined by associate members of the Group, as Hussain made a presentation on the Jaguars work to develop their brand, as well as American football generally, in the United Kingdom.
The Jaguars recently played their sixth match in London, after their engagement in the United Kingdom began in 2013.
Speaking after the meeting, All-Party Parliamentary American Football Group Chairman and Member of Parliament for Wellingborough, Peter Bone MP, said “Members of the Group were delighted to welcome to Hussain to Parliament and hear more about the work he and his team are doing.
“The Group is committed to encouraging more people to play and watch American football, and we welcome the Jaguars’ ongoing efforts to grow the game here in the United Kingdom.”
Hussain Naqi, Senior Vice President for International Development at Jacksonville Jaguars said “it was an honour to meet with Members of the All-Party Parliamentary American Football Group in Westminster, and discuss Jacksonville Jaguars’ ongoing work in the United Kingdom.
“We run a number of initiatives across the United Kingdom, which are aimed at getting more people participating in and engaging with American football, and look forward to continuing to work with partners to further develop our brand and the sport more broadly.”
